Our Mission
The mission of Riverview Health Centre Foundation is to raise funds and awareness for Riverview Health Centre to enhance the care of its residents and patients.

Our History
In 1911, the City of Winnipeg Municipal Hospital was founded as a modern hospital for infectious diseases such as typhoid fever, diphtheria, smallpox and Tuberculosis. In the late 1950s, the hospital’s focus turned to long-term care and it built the first Day Hospital in 1983. In 1995, turn-of-the-century buildings were replaced by a new 388-bed rehabilitation and long-term facility, and the hospital was renamed Riverview Health Centre.
The Riverview Health Centre Foundation has been operating since 1997 as an organization of dedicated staff and volunteers who work hard to enhance the Centre’s ability to provide quality care and home-like surroundings to patients and residents. Donations and contributions to the Foundation provide funding for new equipment, special services, updated facilities, innovative programs, research and education.
