About Us
Riverview Health Centre embraces Person Directed Living, a relationship-based, individualized approach where each person’s lifestyle, needs, and preferences are honoured and respected.
We proudly deliver outstanding care to the people we serve in our long term care, stroke rehabilitation, acquired brain injury rehabilitation, and palliative care communities. Our team provides specialized inpatient, outpatient, residential, and outreach services, and collaborates within the regional health structure to ensure the services provided meet identified community needs.
There is an intimate, friendly “small-town feel” at Riverview, even with several buildings, many departments and programs, and nearly 900 employees supporting and caring for more than 4500 people every year. It is a vibrant and inclusive environment that recognizes the cultural, spiritual, and ethnic diversity of our community. Innovation through education and research activities in collaboration with community partners is integral to our work.
Along with communities and healing spaces set aside for the people we serve, the Riverview Health Centre campus – located in Winnipeg, Manitoba – includes the Robert Steen Day Hospital and the Atrium, a central area housing an Information Centre, cafeteria, gift shop, solarium, hair salon, auditorium, and Worship Centre. The Princess Elizabeth Building is home to the Centre’s administration offices, the Riverview Research Centre, and the Riverview Health Centre Foundation. The Centre is set on almost 24 acres of landscaped lawns, walking paths, gardens, and an historic elm tree canopy backing onto the Red River.
We are committed to helping those needing rehab, long-term or palliative care live life to the fullest while receiving quality of care and quality of life they need. Your contribution will help fund innovative programming, new equipment, specialized services, research and education, so that our Centre can continue a legacy of caring for years to come.
