Our Community
Riverview enjoys a truly picturesque setting, with almost 24 acres of landscaped lawns, walking paths, gardens, and an historic elm tree canopy backing onto the Red River. Clients, patients, residents, and families enjoy access to a private courtyard with accessible outdoor furniture, a pavilion (perfect for family BBQs), shady benches, and children’s play area.
There is wonderful kinship between Riverview and its neighbourhood that includes child care centre visits to RHC, partnerships with local schools, community gardens, and more. Our neighbours often take advantage of Riverview’s park-like setting to walk their dogs or enjoy the shade, and deer frequently browse among our trees.
Riverview’s architectural design and person directed living culture help create a warm and welcoming home community for the people we serve. They also enjoy access to a central ‘town square’, complete with a family room, solarium, cafeteria, worship centre, gift shop, and hair salon. Our smoke-free campus prioritizes the health of everyone who lives, visits, and works at Riverview.
Campus-wide events, open to all, bring life and laughter to the Riverview campus. Concerts, an annual carnival, car and motorcycle shows, a dog parade (and frequent visits from friendly animals), holiday celebrations, and regular outings to some of Winnipeg’s favourite places help create meaningful moments.
