Planned Power Outage at RHC

This is to advise of a planned power outage on April 6th, starting at 9:45 p.m. and ending by 6:00 a.m., or sooner, on April 7th.  This work is being done to install a phase loss relay which is required to drop out power to the facility if power is not within normal parameters.   Without the ability to drop out power, damage to the facilities’ equipment could occur. To enable this work, the regular power supply will be interrupted for approximately 4 to 8 hours and the Centre will be dependent on its two emergency generators.

During the time of the planned power outage, our Facility Support Services Lead, electricians, and Mb Hydro will be on-site, as well as an additional Facility Patient Care Manager and an additional Security Guard.

Our generator back-up system will be in operation throughout the planned power outage.  All resident/patient equipment will be plugged into the red plugs to ensure consistent power.

Of note, if you happen to be on-site for an end of life or other urgent need, there will be only one elevator operational for E/W, A/B, and C/D access.  Security will be available to assist on an as needed basis. If you need to park in visitor parking, the arm will be in the up position for the duration of the outage for ease of access.

Water, heat and the phone systems will be operational throughout the outage.

Please be assured that our staff are aware and have been preparing for this planned power outage.  There will be no disruption to care to our residents/patients during the planned power outage.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
