Third (Booster) Dose vaccination: the vaccine clinics are occurring this week and Mon for all residents, as well as for all patients who are immune compromised.
Flu Vaccine: The flu vaccine has been administered for all those who consented. Flu vaccine clinics for staff will be held on-site over the next two weeks. We encourage you to also get a flu vaccine in our combined effort to reduce the impact of the flu at RHC this flu season.
Mandatory Vaccination or Rapid Testing Requirement for Staff: The Public Health directive went into effect in Manitoba on October 18th requiring all staff working directly with residents and patients to be fully vaccinated. Those staff who are not fully vaccinated or who choose not to disclose their vaccination status, are required to be tested for COVID-19 every 48 hours when scheduled to work. 5% of our direct care staff require testing. More than half of the staff requiring testing are currently in the process of being fully vaccinated, so this number will continue to drop. Staff continue to be supported to have their questions or concerns addressed to encourage full vaccination of all direct care staff.
Mandatory Vaccination or Rapid Testing for Designated Family Caregivers/Essential Care Partners: We are awaiting direction from the Provincial Pandemic Operations Table regarding the requirement of full vaccination for DFC/ECP. British Columbia and Ontario have made full vaccination mandatory for DFC/ECP, and there are a few Personal Care Home sites in Winnipeg who have done the same. In the meantime, we do encourage all family members to be vaccinated in order to visit safely.
- Designated Family Caregivers/Essential Care Partners: visiting hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- General Visitors: visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
General visitors, please continue to book an appointment, a day ahead at minimum, at 204-478-6208, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Visits from children under 12 are still not recommended, as they haven’t had the opportunity to be vaccinated yet. Please remember to sign out at the end of your visit. Please continue to monitor for any signs of illness and do not come if you are even slightly ill. Please call to cancel your booked visit. Medical masks and eye protection will continue to be provided at the front entrance when you are screened and are required inside and outside.
Thank you for your attention to the guidelines and for your ongoing support. Be well.
