Dear Families,


Updates
A gastrointestinal (GI) outbreak has been declared on one of our PCH units, CD3, today. Active laboratory testing is underway. Outbreak measures are in place and include:
• Symptomatic residents are on enhanced isolation until COVID-19 is ruled out
• Increased cleaning of high-touch surfaces on unit
• Group activities cancelled
• Limit Resident and staff movement on unit where possible
• Any new cases to be placed on enhanced isolation and notify IP&C
• Outbreak signage posted on the unit
• PPE and Hand Hygiene audits to be prioritized for the unit
• Visitor restrictions in effect
• An extra nurse and HCA have been authorized for this evening, and additional through the weekend as needed
• Calls to all families of CD3 residents
• Additional PPE and briefs in all sizes provided
• Admissions are being held
We continue to have active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba, so we all must remain vigilant with hand hygiene, maintaining physical distancing, wearing PPE as provided, & staying away when even slightly ill.
Visiting Reminder:
• Designated Family Caregivers/Essential Care Partners: visiting hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
o POD visits for non-fully vaccinated DFC & ECP will be booked as available
• General Visitors: visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.


General visitors, please continue to book an appointment, a day ahead at minimum, at 204-478-6208, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Visits from children under and older than 12 who are not yet fully vaccinated are not allowed. Please remember to sign out at the end of your visit. Medical masks and eye protection will continue to be provided at the front entrance when you are screened and are required inside and outside. Due to physical distancing requirements, you are reminded that only 2 people along with the resident/patient can be accommodated in the resident’s/patient’s room or in the Pod.
