Happy New Year!
Personal Care Home Update
We are pleased to report there have been no new covid-19 staff cases announced over the past week. To date, we have had no RHC residents test positive for COVID-19. We continue to closely monitor our residents, and will test for COVID-19 should any residents develop symptoms.
As previously reported, an external contracted employee tested positive for COVID-19 on December 24, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, communal activities weresuspended on our CD and 3W PCH units, including small group recreation events and group meals. For now, Residents are provided care and assisted with meals in their rooms and recreation activities are being offered on a one to one basis. Admissions to our Personal Care Home units have been temporarily suspended. We anticipate these cautionary measures to be lifted by January 19, 2021.
At this time designated family caregiver visitation continues on our Personal Care Home units. Plans are underway to resume “social” visits in the coming weeks. Social visits will be held within our two outdoor shelters. Further information will follow.
We are pleased to see that plans are underway provincially for Personal Care Home Residents to be prioritized to receive covid-19 vaccines. Riverview Health Centre is awaiting confirmation on the date immunizations will be initiated at our facility. More information will follow once further details are released.
There have been no new reported staff or patient covid-19 cases on our program/hospital side of Riverview Health Centre. We continue to closely monitor our patients, and will test for COVID-19 should any patients develop symptoms.
Regular updates will be provided on this web page and our covid-19 phone line. If you have questions specific to your loved one’s health condition, please contact the nursing staff on the unit.
Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support.
