Personal Care Home Update

We are pleased to report there have been no new COVID-19 staff cases announced over the past week.  To date, we have had no RHC Residents test positive for COVID-19.    We continue to closely monitor our Residents, and will test for COVID-19 should any Residents develop symptoms.

Personal Care Home Social Visitation

PCH Visitation has now expanded to include social visits from friends and family.

On Thursday, January 21 social visitation resumed for Residents from 3W and our CD units within our new outdoor structure.  Appointments are being offered 5 days per week (Tuesdays through Saturdays) between the hours of 1-7 pm.

Social visits for Residents from our Alzheimer’s Centre of Excellence (ACE) began on Thursday, January 28th.  These visits will be offered 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays)  between the hours of 1-7 pm in the second outdoor structure attached to the ACE Pavilion.

Please refer to the map posted on January 15 for locations of the outdoor structures and available parking.  Pod A is reserved for the Residents of the ACE and Pod B is reserved for our Residents from the CD and 3W units.

The current health order permits one visitor to attend at a time, and scheduled visits will be 30 minutes in length.  Visits can be booked by calling 204-478-6208.

Visitors with booked appointments are asked to present directly to the outdoor structure at the time of the appointment where screening will occur.  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided for visitors when they arrive and must be worn for the duration of the visit.

Vaccine Update

Our vaccination day was a success!

Our first dose of the Pfizer vaccine was administered to our RHC Residents on January 28th.    Residents will receive the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on February 19th.

Program/Hospital Update

There have been no new reported staff or patient cases on our program/hospital side of Riverview Health Centre.   We continue to closely monitor our patients, and will test for COVID-19 should anyone develop symptoms.

Regular updates will continue to be provided on this web page and our covid-19 phone line.  If you have questions specific to your loved one’s health condition, please contact the nursing staff on the unit.

Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support.

Sincerely,
RHC Senior Leadership Team
